Spillian Love Spells
Flavors for an Enchanted Gathering
At Spillian, we've spent the last ten years imagining into making gatherings a singing combination of celebration, ritual, and reveling. We're delighted to share ideas (and some treats!) to inspire you as you're creating enchanting and enchanted gatherings of your own.
There is a magical sweet spot between reaching deep into the why's of your coming together - goals and dreams, memories and deep stories that sit in your tribe, and what might open as you revel - along with the design of the event itself. Flavors, symbols, sound, scents, experiences all can tease out meaning. Some might be obvious and some not even consciously noticed. But they'll all make a difference!
Here are a couple of treats for you:
A Play List
From jazz to Americana with a touch of the Carribean and and the old country; some of our favorite rather unexpected love songs for an enchanted gathering.
Flower Language
We have pansies planted in planters around the mansion at Spillian to celebrate our spring weddings. Pansies are a symbol of love and affectionate thoughts (their name is thought to derive from the French word for thought). In Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, the juice of a pansy was used in a love potion, referencing the Ancient Greeks' and Celts' use of the flower in herbal remedies and love potions. From ancient cultures through Victorian floriagraphy, flowers hold symbolic meaning that can quietly add their unique message to any gathering.
How You Can Revel Again at Spillian
In addition to a splendid array of weddings and other private events, we also offer the Spillian Imaginarium: retreats, workshops, and unique pop-up events throughout the year. (We're super excited about our next event! Carsie Blanton singer/songwriter/activist and rabble rouser extraordinaire is coming in July! You can learn more here.)
We'd love to tell you about them!
