I now make my home in Chichester\, NY\, on the banks of the Stony Clove Creek\, an aggressive double-haul from the historic Esopus Creek. \nLiving\, working\, and fly fishing in the “Cradle of American Fly Fishing” has sharpened my game\, taught me a bit of humility\, and given me an intimate knowledge of the region’s legendary rivers — Esopus\, Schoharie and the East and West Branches of the Delaware — and their tributaries. Exploring the rich fly fishing history and traditions of the Catskills — where it all began in America\, after all — has added another layer of enjoyment to the sport I love. \nI’ve heard it said that if you can find a way to make money doing something you love\, you’ll never have to work another day in your life. These are two of the finest\, most creative licensed guide services\, in the region and this is the first of a series of outdoor adventures we’ll be offering with them. \nSki…snowshoe…ice skate…snowball fights…fireplaces…fine feasts… \nCome and stay on Friday night and be ready to explore the mountains after a superb breakfast on Saturday!\nOr join the group on Saturday for a most excellent adventure. \nOn Saturday\, we’ll offer activities for all ages throughout the day on the grounds of Spillian and in the nearby state forest preserve. Snowball fights\, ice skating\, cross-country skiing\, and more chaos and fun will ensue. \nAfter a day in the snow\, we’ll retreat to the lodge for a gourmet dinner prepared by the executive\nSpillian chef team and spend the evening in our luxurious rooms. \nOn Sunday\, after a classic mountain breakfast\, the group will head over to the Blackhead Range for Dave’s annual Blackhead Mountain birthday hike. \nThose looking for a less strenuous hike can take the pleasant path along the frozen Batvia Kill. In either case\,\nwe’ll enjoy a big campfire lunch with cake before heading back to NYC. \nJust available Saturday?
